Digital Terrain Modeling is the backbone of GreenScan 3D´s exclusive suite of services.  But before we can build a Digital Terrain Model, we first must gather the raw data.  Using an advanced 3D laser scanner, we set thousands of survey points across your putting surface on a 6 inch grid.  This level of detail is unthinkable using any other method.  In fact, traditional surveyors set points every 10 feet, making the rebuilding of your greens largely a matter of guesswork!  But with the immense amount of data we gather with GreenScan 3D, we can create a 3 dimensional network of triangular faces, built on our 6 inch grid, that precisely defines your putting surface.  This is the Digital Terrain Model.

This Digital Terrain Model can be provided to you in AutoCad format for archival purposes, but its true value is found when it is used as a data source for a Robotic Total Station, an advanced automated surveying device.  The combination of highly accurate data and advanced surveying technology makes rebuilding your greens to their former glory a remarkably accurate, time-efficient process.  And it completely eliminates guesswork.
