During his 25 year career Scott Pool has worked at all levels of golf course design and construction, and has been involved in the creation of some of golf´s most honored courses. A 1981 graduate of Florida´s prestigious Lake City School of Golf Operations, Pool spent ten years working with legendary designer, Pete Dye. The two met when Pool worked as a summer intern under Dye while still attending college, and they quickly developed such an excellent working relationship that Pool joined Dye´s organization full time as soon as he finished school. After 2 years of paying his dues at little more than minimum wage, Scott was tapped by Dye to supervise construction of Firethorn Golf Club in Lincoln, Nebraska. At just 25 years of age, Scott´s efforts helped earn the new course recognition as Golf Digest´s 2nd Best Built Course in the United States in 1982.
Over the next several years, as a key member of Pete Dye´s team, he shaped and supervised the construction of many high-profile courses for Dye, including Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin; The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee; and The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island; all perennial members of Golf Magazine´s Top 100. Striking out on his own in 1991, he continued his work on high profile courses. He supervised construction of Kiva Dunes, the #1 rated golf course in Alabama… no mean feat in a state that boasts the fabled Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail… and worked with Jack Nicklaus, shaping Bear´s Best, a premier daily fee course north of Atlanta, Georgia. Among his own signature courses are the award winning course at Mountain Air Country Club in Burnsville, North Carolina and Waterfall Country Club, a course at Lake Burton, Georgia honored by Georgia Golf News as one of five "Best of the Best" private golf courses in Georgia, sharing the honor with the likes of Augusta National and Ocean Forest Club on Sea Island. Currently, Pool is in the midst of construction of a third nine at Mountain Air..

In 2008, Pool received a singular honor, becoming the first Golf Course Architect ever to receive an Emmy. At the gala 29th annual National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Sports Emmy Awards, Pool, President of GreenScan 3D, received The George Wensel Technical Achievement Award for his role in the presentation of Golf Channel's Mutual of Omaha Putting Line Technology.
